Psychosocial and legal counseling and accompaniment, social work support
The concerns and problems that women bring to us often involve addressing the violence they have experienced for the first time and the desire to clarify their current living situation. Together with the women we work out constructive as well as legal solutions:
Information about measures within the framework of the Protection Against Violence Act, information about securing your livelihood, clarification of the legal situation regarding foreigners, support in finding housing and connection to the Labor Market Service, assistance with separation and divorce, information about maintenance, custody and division help you to develop and realize future perspectives.
If it proves necessary, we offer women accompaniment to offices and authorities, police, courts and other institutions.
Outpatient counseling and support
Women from the province of Salzburg who are affected or threatened by violence, but for certain reasons cannot or do not want to live in a women’s shelter, have the possibility to receive counseling and support also on an outpatient basis. Outpatient services include crisis intervention, psychosocial and legal counseling, which can take place in person in a protected setting or by telephone.
Process support
What is process support?
Psychosocial process support is the accompaniment of victims of violence through criminal proceedings, primarily by providing information about the procedures at the police and court, from the filing of a complaint to the end of the proceedings, as well as accompaniment to appointments at the police and court.
Legal process support includes legal advice and representation by a lawyer with the aim of protecting the rights of victims.
The costs for process support are borne by the Federal Ministry of Justice.
Who is entitled to process support?
Victims of physical, psychological and/or sexual violence receive process accompaniment when
- they have been abused and hurt by the (ex-) husband/life partner/boyfriend or another person
- they have been dangerously threatened
- they have experienced sexual violence
- they are persistently followed (stalking)
- they are relatives of a victim of violence who has died as a result of the crime
Before you decide to press charges, it makes sense to seek counseling, because a charge cannot be withdrawn.
